Great this is just what I needed.
Went to another Pro shop today. There was a guy there with a Hoyt Ultratec with the Spiral Cam & 1/2. I've been wanting to shoot a Spiral cam bow for some time. Well, he let me shoot it and it was as good as the normal cam & 1/2. We were talking about how much I like the Razortec and how I wish they offered it in a Spiral Cam. The pro shop owner pipes up and says "I can get you a Razortec with the Spiral Cam." He had one built last year. Said he was shooting a 28.5" draw, 60#, 330 grains at 295fps. For an additional $75 Hoyt will build a Razortec with the Spiral Cam. On a 30" draw bow the Hoyt rep said to expect gains of 10-15 fps over the regular cams. This would put this little bow at IBO speeds of 320-325 fps, right there with the Patriot single.
And I just thought I was having a hard time making up my mind before. ;)[&o] |

Sounds like it would be a sweet shooter. I am curious to what you thought of the valley on the Spiral cams though. I have not tried any of the 2004 models that were spiral cam equipped yet but the valley was very short on the 2003 models.

It seemed fine to me. I was shooting the guy's Ultratec with 31" cams and a loop and had no problem with creeping or it tring to rip it out of my hands. I was really impressed with how quiet and smooth his setup was.

Ask him what the poundage on the bow is.
The reason I say this is so you will have some kind of idea how much different the cam feels on the same draw weight. It sounds good to say the spiral is 10 fps faster but most people have to back them off 5#'s lower in draw weight to shoot them, basically nullifying the speed increase. If you like the feel of the cam, then great, just offering a heads up. |

I wouldn't want to pull that sucker back on a cold December day after sitting for awhile. but if you do and can then go for it....:)
