Afterburner Light

Anyone know if it's illegal to hunt in NY with the copper John Afterburner light attached to your sight?

RE: Afterburner Light

Per the Big Regs under matter of taking It is unlawful to hunt big game with " A firearm or bow aided by any artificial light or laser that projects a beam toward the target". To me it sounds as if an afterburner light would be legal. It might be worth asking a DEC officer though. Please post whatever you find out.

Sounds like the afterburner would be ok. Their ruling sounds like the one in Texas. Lighted pins are fine; sights that project a light onto the game such as a laser sight would be considered illegal. That's what it sounds like to me.
