Best release??

I have been using Cobra releases and the one that I have now has a trigger set with a fairly gun like reaction. I can actually rest my finger on the trigger and slowing apply pressure until it goes off.

However, I jsut bought a new Cobra Swing Away that goes off at the slightest touch. This worries me a little if one is wearing gloves or in any hunting situation where the release accidently goes off.

Any suggestions or are all new releases hair triggers?

Thanks-
Bob

I have the Scott Lil' Goose, the trigger tension is adjustable as well. I would recommend it or the Mongoose.

I agree with Bowhunter4life, my fingers. I have never forgot them and they have never failed me. However some of my friends have a whole box full of release aids, and they still buy a new one every year. LOL

I had a cheap release to start with & switched to a Scott Little Goose. It's adjustable for length & you can adjust the trigger as well. I'm glad I bought it, it's great. My groups tightened up immediately.

ADJUST IT.WHEN YOUR READ THE RESPONSES IT MAKES YOU WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE JUST TRYING TO ADD ANOTHER POST TO THE GRAND TOTAL OF POSTS THEY HAVE!?WHAT?--JUMP OFF THAT BRIDGE?--YEAH WHY NOT?J.K.ANYWAY--BACK TO THE ADJUSTING--MOST BRANDS OF RELEASES HAVE YOU ADJUST OUT UNTIL AN ACCIDENTAL RELEASE--I THINK THAT TOO MUCH HOLDING POWER IS BETTER THAN NOT ENOUGH.

Many good releases. For some reason I am not comfortable with the Scott. I love the Carter Lokjaw 2000(wider jaw than the original). It has a safety that I really like. It goes off very smoothly.

I think the Fletcher releases are overlooked, they have been around a long time.

Can't go wrong with the Scott Mongoose. I have used one now for 3 or 4 years.

RE: Best release??

I started off with fingers, but as my draw weight incresed, so did the beating on my fingers so I swiched to a tru fire caliper release. It was a medium sensitivity trigger. I kept pulling shots with it, so, I decided to give the cheap 6 dollar tru fire releases that you fire with your thumb a try and man, it amazed me. I didn't pull the shots at all.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)
