mine doesnt make noise but i put vaseline on the cable slide to make it quicker

Just a guess, But did you wax your cables before this started happening.

I found that if you use too much wax near the cable slide, after a couple draws, wax shavings might get in the cable slide or on the cable guard.

A good cleaning should fix it up.

There's no sense in buying a new slide if you don't have to. Oiling the guard is ony a work-around, not a fix.
