Although, looking a little closer, i must say that you took this picure last spring last spring/summer or before. I dont know of any place in NE Ohio that is that green right now. Just had to clarify that;)

I took the pic of the telephone pole yesterday. The pics of the rubs were taken this past spring. Just wanted to share some monster rubs with you guys.

Put 1 and 1 together tells me he has been leaving monster rubs like these for 2 years= gotta be a nice mature buck (monster buck;))

Buckeye... that's not a "telephone pole" it's a utility pole:DI would like to have had my belt and hooks on, with bow in hand, when that monster came into rubbing it:)What part of ohio is that?I went to my linemans climbing school there in Wilmington about 15 years ago.Nice pics.Bill D>

Best of luck getting that big boy.;)

What part of ohio is that?
Drstalker

It is Northeast Ohio. Trumbull county. There are alot of good bucks in this area. Ohio is often overlooked as a top big buck state. I guess thats OK though. Not as much out of state pressure;)

That looks just like bear claw marks. Not sure there is bear in Ohio but it definatly looks just like a bear. So maybe you don't want to catch up with him.;)

 HOLY SCHNIKES! buckeye, you sure have a whopper doing the damage displayed in those pics you shared. I'd give anything to witness a big fella tearing up wood that size in person. It is one of the few deer habits I have not been able to personally witness. Good luck with him next year. I would love to see the battle gear that buck drags about his domain.

No bears here in NE Ohio. I wish we did though:)

I glass the fields all summer long and have yet to see this buck in person. I have saw his tracks on many occasions though. There are a bunch of good bucks here that I see quite often scouting and glassing but not him. I would just love to get a peek at him let alone have him in bow range.

Not to brag, but those are quite common size rubs around Southern Ohio. I found 3 farms with rub lines that included a tree 1' in diameter. I am used to them by now. But just because I found the big old rubs doesn't mean it is easy to find the big boy. I might see him once or twice all season, then he stays alive at night.;):D

For some reason I am having a hard time believing those are "common size rubs" for any place.

He didn't "rub" those trees he shredded them;)
