Interesting....seems like last year it took a little while for their website to be updated.

They are called "RapidClimb stirrups", they replace the old elastic cord and web strab to hold your feet in while climbing. I saw them this week in Harrisburg and they look well designed. I have real big feet and wondered how they adjust to the size of the foot, the rep. showed me that the stirrup adjusts on the platform brace. No more having to struggle with the elastic cords and web strap. I just got a new goliath this past Fall and will be replacing the web and elastic as soon as they are out. The rep. told me they should be about $19.95 and will fit the older models.

I would like to see these because the strap/bungee system is the only thing I don't really care for on my Viper. I have heard several people describe them and I still don't understand what would keep your feet from coming out the back if there is no bungee. I also wonder how they move to get out of the way once you are at hunting level. Anyone have any pics yet?

As simple as they are, they realy work! no more bending over to slide the straps over your feet. They are going to be a big hit, especialy for those who love to eat!

that would be me 5shot! thanks goodness!!!
getting up is no problem, but getting my feet in the current setup to come down can be nerve racking at best when you are 18 feet off of the ground. i'll be looking in to getting a set for my goliath. good post, lot of summit users here. |

I also saw these at the Harrisburg Outdoors show. They are pretty cool they attach to the angled bracket on the bottom part of your stand. They are shaped like a half moon and you just slip your foot under them and lift. Much better than the old way. They also redesigned the Cobra Stand to now be a sit stand cliber instead of a hand climber. They accomplish this by having a bar that comes down in front kind of like the viper for when you climb and then when you get to your desired height you lift the bar up and over you so that it is now out of the way and against the tree behind you. I at first thought it would end up jabbing into your back but it does not affect how you sit at all. It looks like a great stand and will still retail at the same price that the old cobra did. They have also started to include footrests on all of their climbing stands. All of these new changes makes me want to go out and sell my current Summit Cobra XLS and buy a new summit stand. They said they made these advancements because of customers requests. You always have to respect a company that listens to its customers.
