Alright, who didn't get them a deer this year?
 

I'm kinda feelin' sorry for you guys who didn't get them a deer this year. I had quite good luck, i got my first with a bow and my first with a gun. :D;):D;):)[&:] WOO HOO!

Hey avid i didnt get ANYTHING this year and i went with a gun but next year i am thinking about getting a bow and hunting with that!. If you want someone to huint with you know where to find me :) ttyl:D

This was my first year in 6 years I didn't get a buck with a bow !! But I did get 3 does.....so I can't complain too much !! :D

First time in 16 years with no buck for me during bow. I passed on 8 bucks, and messed up on mossyhorns. No buck[:@] this season. How long til October?

I've had many seasons that I didn't get a buck with a bow, either due to me screwing up shots or just not seeing what I was after. I have taken atleast one doe each season for the past 10 years or so. The last 2 seasons have been good for me, with 2 bucks and 6 does. Next year I plan on increasing both totals :D

Only because I was wanting a wall hanger this year-I passed on more Does than I can count & forkys, 6 points, 8 point & 1 nice 10-all within 20 yards or less. I had a great year thou & did miss 1 10 point @ 30yds that I would guess around 160. next year I will be having a extra Doe tag for some meat & thin the herd (as they say). I will probably try & hold out for a nice buck again thou I am not a true trophy hunter. Good luck to all this season-I am headed for a Buffalo Bowhunt next month.

Hunted 9 days, some in Bow season, some in rifle season and some in Black Powder. Only saw one ( 1 ) deer a doe.

I have more unfilled deer tags than Carter has little liver pills!

You have to move to one of the most liberal States in the Nation - Maryland. Due to the extreme efforts of PETA and others, we now are overrun with deer.:D

The DNR and Politicians are now having a heck of a time controlling the 'herd'. For years they tried all the artificial methods and spent a TON of money. Seems like the deer just had a way of 'out-smarting' them.;)

While the problem is much more prevalent in suburban areas, there are plenty of deer everywhere. Heck, we can't even hunt on Sundays and still manage very well.:)

No luck with a bow this year for me on the whitetail. I was fortunate enough to take a nice antelope and a turkey. The first night bowhunting, and several thereafter I saw a 140 class buck within 60 yards of my stand. We played cat and mouse all season and I never got closer than 60 yards. I only had one tag so I didn't use it on a doe or smaller deer. Oh well, I had a great season and he is still around so next year we start round 2!!

NO LUCK THIS YEAR WITH BOW, BLACKPOWDER, OR RIFLE. I REALLY THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE THE YEAR THAT I WOULD SCORE WITH MY BOW. MAN , YOU GUYS WHO CONSISTENTLY KILL WITH ARCHERY TACKLE ARE MY HEROS.

one more. The Buck was a 10 point I passed on twice this year at 15 yards. My stand is across the field in the big tree.

i have yet to kill a deer with a bow, have been at it about 4 years, the last three pretty intense; have had plenty of good shot, passed up on them do to the fact they were young bucks with lotsa potential,

haven't killed a deer with shotgun for 2 years now, after taking at least one the last 5

had a great opportunity to take a doe in december this hunting season, but she had 2 yearlings standing right behind her and i just couldnt bring myself to take their mother. and of course form then on i saw them everytime i went out.

My back has been so messed up that I wasn't able to even get out in the woods this year.[&o]

This was my first year hunting with a stick and string in 13 years. I passed on more than a dozen p&y mule deer that were in range and never knew I was around. I was hoping for one of the numerous 175-190 deer we had scouted on this ranch. I drew my bow twice--the first was a 27" 4X4 with a 5'' drop tine. Unfortunately, he never stopped and 44 yrd was too far to risk any kind of moving shot. The second close oppurtunity was a 30" 4X4 we had put a 2 mile stalk on. We got within 15 yds but had no shot because of intervening brush. When he finally cleared the brush, he turned straight for me and we had a stare down. I was not able to hold the bow drawn for more than a minute or so and he bolted when I let the bow down. I was unwilling to risk the 27 yrd straight on shot. I put a stalk on a different 175 plus buck every day of the 8 eight days I hunted. I got witin 80 yds of several 180 class bucks, and within a hundred yards of 190+ ypical 4X4. Was the hunt a failure because I didn't tag a buck? Does it make me a loser? Far from it, it may have been the best hunt of my life! Spot and stalk hunting for monster mulies with a bow! Can hunting get any better than this?

After whitetail hunting most of my life .............and only going on one spot and stalk mulie hunt .........

Can hunting get any better .................NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D


Like I said .........I passed on a borderline P&Y ...........those big boys are just too much...........just the stalk is worth going.............getting one would only be icing on the cake !! Maybe this year..........going again in Sept. !! ;)
