RE: My draw length is a bit long is that bad?
i am no expert but i think a to short draw lenght is better than a to long of one. if your draw lenght is not correct it will be hard on your form. if you are shooting good now in your opinon just think what the possibilities will be when you get the bow setup to fit.

if you draw length is right on and its comfortable to shoot go for it....the longer the draw the more powerstroke you have...dont go making it longer just for that reason but it sure does make a difference! Find where the bow fits you perfect and fling away!

If your draw length is too long, it will cause problems. I would go to a good proshop and have them check it out for you. With the proper drawlength you will shoot better, and be more consistant.

Ditto on 5shot's comment. A "too long" draw length can cause form problems and bad shooting habits in general.
That is the bad news. The good news is that your bow is probably adjustable in draw length. I would take it to a pro shop to see if they can shorten it up for you. |
RE: My draw length is a bit long is that bad?
I agree that too long of a draw on your bow may cause problems. But there are a few things that may help you out.
First if your bow uses modules, get them changed. Second, take your bow to the pro shop, there are some minor things that they can do to get small increment adjustments. Third, you may be able to use a different release. Ex. If you use a caliper type wrist held, you may be able to go to a thumb type hand held release. Forth, Nock - depending on what type of nocking devise you use, you may be able to get a little from this. Ex. If you use a loop, take it off and shoot off the string. Hope that helps. |
