Hey guys,

I just had the ol Liberty shooting in my basement. Well, I took one of my GoldTip 3-D Pro's down that was tipped with a 125 grain field point and I took my last and only Carbon Express Terminator Hunter 6075 arrow down that didn't have a field point. Well, I had these arrows sitting beside each other and I was getting ready to shoot when I heard my dog barking. I went upstairs to see what he was barking at, but there was nothing. Well, I went back down, picked up an arrow, drew back, shot, and............CRACK!!!!!!!!!!!! The arrow hit the target and sounded like a friggin shotgun! Well, I look down and see my GoldTip sitting on the ground. I shot my Carbon Express without a field tip by accident!!!! THANKFULLY that was a HEAVY arrow, 426 grains without the field point (31" long and they weigh 12 grains per inch, plus 3-4" duravanes and nock and insert) After that, I decided to just come back up and leave the shooting alone for the night!!!!!! [8D]

"""Note To Self""" If you are going to have two different arrows out and only one field point for the two, make sure that you shoot the arrow with the field point attatched :D

I have the same arrow's here sitting right beside me when I read your post I thought Gee I'm sure that's what i got sitting in the box in the laundry room .sure enough that's exactly what they are ,I bought them off e-bay for $26.00 Canadian and they were too heavy for my Golden Eagle Splitfire .I think I'm going to set them up for my BowTech Patriot Dually for moose hunting and I'll use Easton Axis for Deer .

While confession is good for the soul, none of us here are priests by a long shot.

However, posting this is borderline public humiliation. We're all human and have made this mistake or worse.....in my case worse. I shot the refridgerator while trying to ease my "cabin fever" from not being able to get out and shoot my bow....missed the target shooting from the living room to the kitchen.

Nobody found the hole until we moved a couple of years later.

Thats not bad I built a new garage last summer and put a arrow thru my 500.00 dollar garage door[:@] that was after it went thru the target.:eek:

I know how you all feel, last fall, I was shooting from the middle of the driveway into the garage, about 20 yards. I had my foam target up on my bench with some metal cabinets behind my target. In those cabinets I had all of my oils and fluids for my racecar. Long story short, I had a new set up on my new bow and I took the first shot and missed the target completely, punching a hole right thru the door of the cabinet. The arrow scewered quarts of oil and there was oil running all over. I cleaned up the mess and started shooting again, and it wasnt long before I hit it again, and I had more oil running all over the work bench. This time , Iwent thru the cabinet completelyand busted the window behind it. After that, I decided I had better stop shooting for a while.[:@]

I havent done that yet because the arrows that I have are all the same and tipped. But Im pretty sure when I start experimenting with other arrows or bows and stuff..... Its gonna happen to me. You arent a moron. It has happened to many people.

Buck Magnet, Don't feel bad. At least you didn't have an audience. I was shooting at one of my first indoor tournaments. I had one arrow without a tip. I didn't notice until I after I shot. The walls were metal and did that make one hell of a bang. Dont worry. We are all human .

I won't tell you about shooting at the range one Sunday. While talking as we were shooting, I pulled my bow back and shot. With no arrow on the string. [:@][:o][:'(]

This would be the perfect time to introduce a little blurb about...."...and the arrow totally exploded upon impact. That would not have happened if I were using a Brand Y arrow...."....:D

Don't feel bad. My steel basement door has more holes in it than I care to mention.....and ...boy, those Beman ICS sure do stand up well to steel doors.....;)

Heck BM, I shot a hollow point on a 3D course last year. It was the bonus target at a marked distance of 45 yards. I did not notice I had lost the tip and insert in the last target until after retreiving my arrow. Oh well, it happens to everyone every once in a while.

Your not a moron in my book in my years of shooting I have done some of the same things. I think one of the best shots that I have made was when I was around the age of 12 shooting a 35lb recurve I was shooting at a stump in our yard in the middle of winter when I released the arrow it glanced off the right side of the frozen stump. The arrow made a right hand turn and right into the side of our above ground pool. Lets just say Mom and Dad were not very happy!!!!!!

well the arrow was imbedded into the side of the pool about 2 feet above the ground than my dog pulled the arrow out while I was breaking to news to my Dad. about one foot of water did drain out.
