Re: Leveler Safety Notice
Dear Customer,
A potential safety risk exists with the Tree Lounge Leveler, which you may have purchased from CESSO, LLC (makers of the TreeLounge tree stand and accessories) or one of our dealers.
A number of levelers have partially cracked. In other cases, the bolts attaching the leveler to the TreeLounge have pulled, or begun pulling, through the primary tube on the leveler, or there have been other complaints.
Although we know of no customer who has experienced injury, we are concerned about the risk that leveler failure could cause the TreeLounge to fall or shift abruptly. In either case, injury is possible.
Your safety is of utmost importance. We therefore ask that you stop using your leveler immediately. We have not experienced the same issues with the foot climber leveler, but, as a precaution, you should stop using it as well.
We are currently evaluating the appropriate remedy in the circumstances and expect to make a further announcement about the leveler in the near future in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Thank you for your cooperation. We apologize for the inconvenience

This is not a recall.
They aren't taking them back or giving you your money back.
Just telling you to stop using them.
What a crock!
I have a tree lounge and really wanted the leveler for the top part of my stand.....glad I held off.
I use my summit goliath now and will probably near break the tree lounge out again.

I've not had any problems with mine although I'll keep a close eye on it from now on.
Funny how the release of the notice seemes to correspond with the end of the season...

[I own 4 Tree Lounges, awesome stand for comfort, and safety. The problem with the levelers is NOT the leveler, it is the Owner/ Operator. Some people screw up and put the bar on the bottom of the lounges rails, they must go on top like the instruction show! If you break it because you make a dumb mistake, the manufacturer should NOT be expected to fix YOUR screw up! I know this from personal experience, almost fell 20 feet when I made that same install mistake! I have used them for years since then with no problem.

That alert is TEN YEARS OLD for Pete's sake!!! I have no idea why this newbie first time poster went back and pulled this up from the archives! The company was sold by Bob Hice, the inventor, and the company went bankrupt when the owners went to China for production of the stands with what turned out to be inferior materials. The Hices got the company back and resumed production in the original US factory with the proper materials. Bob died in January of 2006 and his wife kept the company going for a few years until it finally folded several years ago.

Good info Topgun. The internet is starting to crawl with out of date or incomplete info.
It's getting like seaching deeds to properties. Maybe newbies shouldn't buy a tree stand unless the company still exits.
I have an old treestand that was also made by a now out of business company.
In case of theft, I was thinking about putting on stickers.
Warning: no warrantee on stand
Stand company out of business
-no one to sue
Warning: Weight limit of only
250 lbs. (weight)
Poacher "This fella doesn't want his stand stolen" ?
