;) Well stated Elkcrazy8. I have some yarded that I can glass from a distance. The only times I see them romping about is late afternoon, playing, getting warm and readying themselves for food and watering. I too believe it's more than likely just a wintering bed. If not he sounds like he found an ideal sweet spot with favorable winding, entry/exit etc. I do hope most of them critters survive. It's always sad to be shed hunting and come across obvious winter kill.

Yea, my thoughts also.

A little bit of food will draw them in this time of year.

I have found a few areas just ripped apart by deer, with many of them bedded close by. But these areas will hold few deer doring the season.

Great spots to find sheds but not to hunt.

I agree that the deer won't be there early in the season, but if left unpressured, this area will be a sweet spot for late season deer. I suggest putting up a stand in the summer (when the deer are not there) and hunting it after the snow flies next december.
