Summit stands, Which one is best?

RE: Summit stands, Which one is best?
Depends on what you are looking for. For light weight and no front bar obstructions go with the Cobra XLS. You will sacrifice some comfort vs. the Revolution, but personally I'll take light weight. Also, like you I shoot sitting down and the Viper has the bar in the front and that would bother me. One other thing to consider is ease & speed of setup when you get to your spot. With the Cobra, strap on the cables and climb, nothing else to fool with.
You just need to decide what is more important to you, comfort or light weight. The Cobra is by no means uncomfortable, but the Revolution is more comfortable but at the expense of weight and setup time/difficulty.

I have a viper, and I really like it. I have drawn my bow while sitting down to see if it would be in the way. It wasn't. But I prefer to stand. Its a great stand, and I would recomend that everyone try one.

Switched from the Tree Lounge to the Viper XLS and love it. Only problem is that the climber portion tends to be noisy if 1 or 2 barrels are left in the tube. If you climb a smaller tree that requires 3 or more barrels to be left in the tube, the noise disappears.
The clanging also isn't as prevalent if you climb with shoes that keep your ankles articulate. What I mean is, if you've got big clunky rubber boots it's harder to cleanly disengage and re-engage the platform. The cable slides up the back of the tree causing the barrels to jump around inside the tube.
Again, this is only on larger trees with 1 or 2 barrels left in the tube. Other than that I love it.
