trophyhuntr,
Have you shot either of these two bows? If you have I would suggest picking the bow that fit you the best, not the bow that's the fastest, or the cooler looking one, just get the one that fits. Let us know how it turns out though.

Best advice I can give is go there and shoot as many different models as you can. My choice changed more times than I can remember until I actually got in the shop. They're all great bows and ultimately you'll just have to consider what you want most (outright speed, forgiveness, ATA size) versus how they feel to you. It's too personal a decision to say go for this or go for that. I do think you chose a good company to patronize though.

What weight are you shooting? Seems you just want a fast bow and not what might be best for you or your shooting style. You can get a fast bow that is a more shootable than those two. Not that the extreme is that bad but the black knight isnt going to be a walk in the park. Why dont you look into the Patroit dually or the pro 40 dually. The have near 8 inch brace heights in stead of 5 3/4 and 6 3/4 respectavlySeems you are in a bit of a hurry and need to shoot a couple more of these bows before deciding. Good luck

The VFT is a smooth drawing bow (well, for the speed bows)! It has a short a.t.a length 34-1/8" but it feels larger than that! The bow is incredibly quiet and shock free! Quality is the same as all other BowTechs, which is top notch! My best friend shoots one and it is set at 28" draw, factory hush kit, 3 eliminator buttons, 2 brass nocks, Tru-peep, 63# draw weight, shooting a 390 grain arrow at 269 f.p.s. The bow has a small brace height at 6-5/8" but it is very manageable. With heavy clothes, it will be a good idea to wear a tight black sock with the toe end cut out over your clothes. This will save you money over any of the other arm guards out there plus it will help prevent your string from snagging onto your clothes.
I have no experience with the BKII but from what I have seen on here, some people love it while others don't. The bow is definetly a SCREAMER!!!!!! It also has a small brace height of 5-3/4", which some can shoot perfectly fine while others can't. It has a longer a.t.a. of 36-1/4" which will make it more stable.
Keeping the BKII is just about a mute point with the strings on the BowTechs. BowTech has some of, if not the best factory strings of any bow companies and that helps prevent the tuning issues that use to be a problem with dual cam bows back in the day.
Whatever you choose, it is a good choice. These are both great bows backed by a great company which is ran by great guys!!!!!

If you are worried about the short brace of the Black Knight which IMO is a very nice shooting bow.
Then look at either the Patriot Dually or the Pro40 Dually.
I am waiting on my Black Knight to turn up so I have not shot the 04 yet but if by all accounts ie (new riser, pivoting limb pockets and smoother draw) it shoots better than the 03 then I have another keeper in my stable.
The 03 that I did shoot last year almost had me trading in my 3 week old Pat Dually
