I would suggest that he tangled with the BUCK OF YOUR AREA. Both main beams broke off, no other visable damage, no coyotes, 3/4 mi. away roadside. Jmo but it seems to add up to a death match over a lady and he got the proverbial arse whuppin.

I saw a lot of that in PA this year. My area has a 4 point on at least one side restriction, and these deer that are being shot are clearly not legal. It makes me sick, and defeats the entire purpos of antler restrictions.

Tabby,
Where'd you hunt up here in NW PA? Are you originally from this area?
I'd say he got hit by a car. I would think he'd have visible wounds if it was a buck fight.

i had a few of these in my woods over the last few years and it could be that he was hit by a car, and was able to make it to the beading area. How far of the road was he?

The more I think about makes me lead to believe it is from diease or infection.
It is the smallest framed rack and least mass I have saw there in 4 plus seasoms of hunting there. Most yearlings carry 60-70 inch racks here. Some a little bigger some a touch smaller. May never know.
