RE: How big is a deer's kill zone?
how big is your broadhead!!!:D about as big as a pie plate right behind the shoulder
|
RE: How big is a deer's kill zone?
Depends on the size of the pie you make.:)
Common estimates are 8" to 9" diameter. Of course, the measure is the "kill-zone" from ground level and broadside. Size changes in accordance with angle and/or height. |

IMO the kill zone it the 3 inch dia shot you can make at any range (out to 50 in my case), the rest is just waisted. The website that buckeye gave is a good one for looking at the anatomy.

RE: How big is a deer's kill zone?
Hmmmm. How big is the deer? I'm not really sure. I try to pick out a tuff of hair, a dark spot or even a single hair in the area about 1/3 up the body and, depending on the angle, behind the front shoulder. (quartering away, this distance would be further back than broadside). Focus on that smallest spot I can see, aim, and release.
Remember, CALM DOWN, FOCUS, AIM, RELEASE. |
RE: How big is a deer's kill zone?
it's about the 8" to 10" behind the front shoulder .

The kill zone is huge, but the "kill and still find your deer zone" is what matters.
