Have you trimmed your biscuit?
I've checked the CAP websight and they offer no tips on trimming a biscuit. I've read where many biscuit shotters have trimmed their biscuits. How do you go about this?
Thanks in advance for the info. |

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
[:o]This is great. 4 replies and not a single set of instructions on shaving(I mean) trimming my biscuit. Thanks guys:DLOL
Maybe 5Shot can let me in on the seceret. |
RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Yeah, maybe... but it takes him 5 times to get it right! ;):D

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
OK >>> OK.... I believe it was 5Shot or PABohunter or someone like that, that cuts away half the bristles from their whisker bisquit from the back side. You could shave a few more off at the top but you need to leave enough at the bottom and sides to hold the arrow firmly.

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
I got my WB this year and didn't have to bother with trimming it at all. I don't think you really need to do it.

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Awww....I thought your post was about something else...nevermind. :D

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Adams:Remove the biscuit from the windage bar. Lay sissors flat on the bowstring side of the biscuit and lift and snip 4-5 bristles at a time working evenly around the circumfrence of the biscuit till you can look at the biscuit edgewise and the bowstring side of the biscuit is flat. On a tuned bow the biscuit loses less than 1% of the arrowspeed with 4" straight fletch. A trimmed biscuit will lose about 1/2% of the arrowspeed with 4" straight fletch. Good luck hunting!

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Though I was laughly loudly after reading the first few posts I am glad someone gave him good instructions...:D
I don't use the whisker biscuit personally but have set many of them up for customers. Chris (5shot) might though. I do know that "JoePA" uses one on his bows but am unsure whether or not he trims it. I think the instructions given were very good. |
RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
i was at an archery shop before i purchased my first bow and the owner was telling me i should get a biscuit installed. He demonstrated one by placing an arrow in it and turning it towards the ground to show how easy the arrow goes through it....When i do this with mine, the arrow always stops with the fletching getting stuck in the bristles.....if you trim one will it pass through it that easy???

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Another trick is use the biscuit made for aluminum with carbon arrows and there is less friction then trim a few bristles
|
RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
NO but i trimmed my girlfriends
|
RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
i just saw the new whisker bisquit at the archery trade show in indianapolis..
i spoke with the manufacturer.. he has changed the design.. smaller bristles (diameter wise, not length) & tighter packed bristles (or whiskers) ....just a side note :) |
RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Whisker Smisker. Not to spread rumors but word has it there is a new rest unveiled at ATA this week called the Moose Nuckle. No trimming necessary. But it is not without controversy. I've heard the makers of the Camel Toe rest are filing a law suit based on patent infringement. They were partners at one time, real tight, but they split after one thought they smelled something fishy going on. We'll just have to wait and see.:)

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
I have not trimmed my biscuit, and it works perfectly. Shoots straight every time! ;).....................
[:o][:o] That sounds dirty! I'm Glad I'm not the only one with their mind in the gutter :D;) Bowhack, You will find after the initial "Break-in" period of the biscuit, the arrow will do the same. It takes a few shots through the biscuit to get it loosened up. After that, you will have little resistance when the veins pass through. RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
I have found it is easier to trim with fingernail clippers than with sissors.

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
I have heard that a wb out of the package will (over time) start to peel the fletchings off, I dont know but that is what i heard. I also heard you want to trim it with that new gentle "razor" otherwise it will leave bumps. That is how mush I heard about trimming the biscuit. Hope this advice helps. heheeheheheh. You certainly wouldnt want a sloppy biscuit!

RE: Have you trimmed your biscuit?
Tooooo funny 6 fan:D
I shot the biscuit this year and didn't feel the need to trim at all. As far as any other snide comments, I'll restrain myself THIS time.;) |
