Got my first few Stealth Cam pics back...
I was hoping the 160-class buck I took after Christmas was going to be on here, as I set it out the day before I took him, and he ran within 30 feet of my camera a second after I arrowed him. That would have been a really cool picture! Alas, it didn't capture him.
I did have these on here, though. Not quite as exciting as a 160-class, but still pretty neat, as these are my first-ever pics from a trail camera. (The yellow streaks in the first one are from my scanner; I'm gonna have to be replacing it soon.) ![]() Here's a curious one: ![]() Maybe she needs to learn from the cat; you know what they say about it! ![]() This had the potential to be a pretty one: ![]() I can see how this thing's gonna be addictive! :) |
RE: Got my first few Stealth Cam pics back...
Nice looking pics. I'm still trying to get the hang of my cam. I got it for Christmas and have taken two rolls of film but am having trouble with the cam taking pics of nothing. Just yesterday I went out to see if all of the film had been taken and there were two pics left so I decided to walk in from the side of the camera to see if it captured a pic of me. I did this twice and then took the film to get developed. When I got the pics back, there were none of me and I couldn't find any wildlife in any of the other pics except a couple of some cows that had wandered through. I set the range from long to short and am debating on putting tape on either side of the sensor. How are you doing yours?

John Deer, I didn't even know it had a way of changing the range! :D
I haven't done anything so far but put it out there. I've read on here about putting tape on the sides, but I haven't paid close enough attention to why people were doing that. Maybe it's because like in the last pic, the doe's not centered. I am curious as to how the doe in the middle two pics got that close before the camera took the pic -- at least in the first one. In the second one, it could have just been recycling because I've got it set to take one pic every one minute. |

ijimmy, I can't remember exactly... it was the recommended one, I know. Was it 200? I think... but look in your owner's manual, and that's what it was. (I can't find my owner's manual right now; I just looked.)

Some of you guy's are having better luck than I am. All I get are pictures of me.

MQ1,
Did you have pics that don't have anything in them. Like something set off the camera but didn't get caught in the picture. I'm wondering if the camera sensor has a wider field of view than the actual lens on the camera. That's why I am thinking of putting tape on each side of the sensor like blinders on a horse. |
RE: Got my first few Stealth Cam pics back...
John I know they say if you face the camera east or west you will get pictures with nothing in them , that you are better off faceing the camera north or south .

RE: Got my first few Stealth Cam pics back...
yep, I sure did. That's why there's only four deer pics on here! ;)
Also got one that I stared at for the longest until I finally picked out a flock of blackbirds taking off in the pic. I thought it was just a bunch of spots on the film or something. |
RE: Got my first few Stealth Cam pics back...
I made sure not to face the camera directly east or west. Also most of the pics that had no wildlife were taken late at night. There were just a couple of pics taken during the day and they were taken at around noon. I can't figure it out.[X(]
