Which is the best kind of mineral or salt lick to put out now for deer?

I have one of each out right now, put them out 3 weeks ago and I dont think they have been touched yet.[X(]

BigDaddy.....just wondering what kind you put out? I put out one that came in a camo plastic wrap. They don't do much with them this time of year. I tired one of these in the camo wrapper this fall and the deer worked it over very good until about Christmas. I know bacause I put my cam on it for a couple weeks. Just wait till spring, build a granular tpye lick on the ground and set whats left of the block on it, the'll work it over!

They don't really use it much at this time of year. Warm weather is the only time I've seen them get hit.

I have used apple blocks out behind my house and they have dug out a 2 foot deep hole. But they don't pay it much attention when the snow hits the ground.

DaveH is right deer don't use salt or mineral licks this time of year but leave it out untill spring then you will be surprised. The first time I put out salt in late fall and the deer didn't touch it so I forgot about it just happened to walk by it the next summer and they had dug a big hole
