Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Do you have a lifetime license in your state and if it is offerred, do you have one? In Indiana they are $855.00 for a lifetime and they cover all deer tags, turkey tags and small game, such as rabbits, squirrels, coyotes..etc plus state waterfowl stamps and quail stamps for the rest of your life, you never have to worry about state tags again or license increases. I am going to get one, does it sound worth it to you?

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
portable ladder,
They do have those here in Idaho but I do not have one although it might be worth it. It does sound like a good deal where you are and I think I would go for it. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I believe we have something like that but it is only available to senior citizens age 65 or older. I think it covers everything except for the bear tag...maybe one of the other PA guys can clarify this further.

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Hey, at my age..... if they had one.....(drum roll)... I'd buy it for a week at a time.;) (rimshot)[&:]

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Georgia has lifetimes licenses.
Adult = $500..excludes federal stamps Child = $250..Can be purchased by adults for children and is good for their life. I currently do not have one but intend on buying one for me and one for my twins in the near future. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I bought one here ni NY before I moved to NJ, and I think it was a bargin at my age (30yrs old).
It was like $725 when I bought it 2 years ago...now the same tags are over $800. For $725 I have; 1. Lifetime Fishing 2. Lifetime Turkey 3. Lifetime Small Game (includes game birds and predators) 4. Lifetime Big Game 5. Lifetime Bowhunting if your still young enough...spend the money. I figured it out. For what I used to pay for my tags every year I would have spent this amount in 10 years time. So now by having this liscence I'll practically be hunting for free from the time I'm 40 till I'm in the ground.. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
In WV they have them. It's $425 for it. Covers everything except additional tags and a bear stamp. I have one that I got a while back, and since I live in VA now...it has paid for itself a couple times over already. (non-resident would be about $200/year for the hunting I do).
I bought one for my son as well. If you buy it before they turn 2, you can get an Infant Lifetime Lic for $213. VA has one also, but it is only for small game...I think it's around $250. You still have to buy your big game license and any additional tags. Definitely not worth it in my opinion. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I have one in Oklahoma and Kansas. The Oklahoma one is a great deal, I never have to buy any tags, just take your animal to a check station and they give you the tag you need there. It cost me around 400 dollars. The one I have in Kansas just covers me from having to buy a hunting liscense for the rest of my days. I have had them both for about 10 years, they have been a really good investment.

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I have one. I got it in 1994. I actually have a combination hunting/fishing and it cost 400.00 then. They are very expensive now. I think the combo is going for 725.00 now. However, it is good for the remainder of your life, whether you remain a resident or not. And, like Okie-Buck stated, you don't have to buy anything ever again except for the federal waterfowl stamp and a trout license.
Mine paid for itself within 4 years, and with the rising costs of licenses and tags, I imagine even at the new higher price, it will have paid for itself in 5 or 6 years. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I'm 24 years old, so yes I am going to go for it. Hopefully, I'll still be hunting at the age of 84!!!:D

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Does anybody know if they have lifetime liscences in Illinois? It sounds like a great deal.
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Ive got an oklahoma lifetime also. Man, it was well worth the money. I got mine when i was 14, so the first two years it only paid for tags. But, now i would have to buy license and tags and stamps and permits and whatever else, but its all taken care off. Except for the federal duck stamp, crane permit, and HIP. I also bought my lifetime fishing right before they went up in july.

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Bought mine back in 1990 in WV. Heck of a bargain got it all lifetime hunting, fishing and trout stamp for somewhere between 3 and 400 I think. I have been hunting free for the past 3 or 4 years. Still spend a small fortune on extra deer stamps though.

RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?

|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
man is tennessee the only one that offers the lifetime license for over 1000...
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Can anybody beat this? I, too am from Oklahoma. I bought a combination hunting-fishing license in 1971 when I was 16. It cost me $150. I save nearly that much in one year just on deer tags.
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
We've got 'em in Missouri, too -- but ours are only good for small game and fishing. I would still have to buy deer tags every year.
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
So does anyone know how much the senior lifetime tag is in PA? I am thinking a little over $100 but I could be way off.
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
From what I can remember, Illinois has one. 30 times the regular cost of the tag......So right now it would be 750 bucks. But that don't cover any stamps you have to have. No matter what, you still have to buy the habitat stamp and all of your tags.
At the rate I am going, I will be lucky to be able to walk 30 years from now. Who knows if I will even live around here by then. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I have one for Alabama.........boy... glad I do !!!! It was $450 for a combo Hunting/Freshwater fishing when I got it a few years ago. It doesn't cover any duck stamps or wildlife management areas.
But after moving here for work.........it would cost me $250 a year for an out of state seasonal license just for hunting (if I didn't have the lifetime) ! [:o] |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
Wish Ohio had one like that.
;) |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I have one in Nebraska, it only works for small game and waterfowl and it doesn't allow you to get big game tags at resident prices. South Dakota does not offer them.
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I bought my lifetime license in WV in 1992.
Hunting & Fishing $300 Trout Stamp $100 Total $400 I can hunt anything that walks in WV without extra stamps except for bear but that only runs an extra $4. I can also fish anytime of year for any type of fish. I think to get what I got in 1992 sells for around $700 now. I am still a WV resident and based upon prices for regular license each year I am just now approaching the breakeven point, but I am only 30 years old and hopefully have several years left to enjoy. I saw on some of the other posts discussion of senior licenses. In WV when you turn 62 or 65 can't remember which you can apply for a senior card at no cost. It gives you the same rights as the lifetime license. |
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
I live in idaho and i do not have one but i want one ( 1000 bucks i think )
|
RE: Do you have a lifetime license in your state?
from the dnr website:
The Lifetime Hunting, Fishing, and Sportsmen's License fees are as follows: Lifetime Hunting: 30 times the current Hunting License fee Lifetime Fishing: 30 times the current Fishing License fee Lifetime Sportsmen's Combination: 30 times the current Sportsmen's Combination License fee You must notify the Department of an address or name change. Lifetime License fees are not refundable. The duplicate license fee is $10 in the event of your license being lost or stolen. IL BOW MAN IS CORRECT THIS DOES NOT COVER HABITAT STAMPS, ANY WATERFOWL STAMPS, OR DEER AND TURKEY PERMITS. not a very good deal. |
