I don't know where you live but here in chicago I took an 11pt on a day when it was 20 degrees and the wind was 20 to 25mph I saw a total of 9 deer within range. It was between 3-5:30pm. My partner in the same area on a very similar day took what we believe to be the 9pt buck we were after, only he had shed his rack, same time in the late afternoon. This is in a valley like area where the wind blows more over the tops of the trees and you don't feel it as strong on the ground.

RE: cold and windy

OK after reading these posts. I feel guilty living in CA because the weather has been about 40ish or so. I love cold weather. Like to move back to a state where it snows. I am crazy for that but after living in Montana for 2 1/2 years it grew on me :D
