The "Biscuit" Rest ??
Hey all Ethical Bowhunters!
From a bowhunter since 1965, Who uses the "biscuit rest" and do you like it? My wife uses it on her MQ-2 Mathews. She loves hers! Thanks! |
RE: The "Biscuit" Rest ??
I got one to play around with, and have just started shooting it. So far I do like it. I cut a slot in the top, so I could "top load" arrows, and trimmed away some bristles. accuracy seems pretty good, but I have not shot enough to know how well my feathers will hold up or how durable the rest is.

Best hunting rest I know when shooting site and release. I need to know how it shoots with fingers, I think I'll try it, three under and a little spot of paint on the top for aiming, cool!

My brother uses one and he loves it. I like the fact that you can move your bow around and not have to worry about the arrow falling off the rest and making a bunch of noise. It doesn't have any effect on the flight of the arrow. I was amazed how good it worked.

I looked at one, and bought the Bodoodle Zapper instead. I love the Zapper. The best rest I've ever used. It completely controls the arrow, and it is easy to load and tune. Add a couple of drops of clear nail polish and it is whisper quiet. I think it will be more durable than the Whisker Bisquit too.

RE: The "Biscuit" Rest ??
I've been using one for about 8 months and I like it very much for hunting. I've shot at least 4-5,000 shots through it with no signs of wear on the rest. If you use the proper vanes and glue, your arrows will also last a long time.

RE: The "Biscuit" Rest ??
First of all I love the name "whisker biscuit ". The Martin I brought home Friday had a WB drop tine on it and my thoughts are: seems pretty rugged/ love the security it gives your arrow (has got to be the best feature of this rest)/ easily adjustable-very easy I had bullets in the paper after a few turns of the rope loop and a couple of lefts to right in really small increments. At first I didn't really like the idea behind the WB but had read alot of positives, which I now agree with. I also wonder if it might even be stabilizing the oscillations and reducing the recovery time during the initial launch of the arrow? It seemed to work really well for me, but these are still initial impressions. The security factor automatically sells it as a hunting rest; I'd guess.
Who can tell me what the difference is between the WB for aluminum and the one for carbons is? Thanks- -Chief |

Carbons; small hole, aluminum; large hole.

I dislike the whisker bisquit for one reason. We tune and tinker with our equipment all year long trying to eliminate rest contact and get neet little paper tears. Then you throw on a whisker bisquit and it's all about contact. I also shoot feathers. Seems like it would raise cane with them. Now you take the Muzzy and you got the other extreme. NO CONTACT. It is the coolest thing since my first recurve. You never have to worry about where the arrow is.
