Ever had any successful drives hunting with a bow?
I have helped do some drives before and we jump a nice buck right towards my friend. He didn't get the buck ( hence buck fever) but I think mini-drives do work if you have patterned your deer and know where they are going.

Every year towards the end of the season my dad and I do mini drives. The shooter goes to a tree stand and the driver moves really SLOW. Whichever one is driving tries to still hunt the deer, maybe getting a shot. This is the pace you need to have. This way the deer stick to their normal travel routes and come by your stand. This pace also gives you the chance to grunt and stop a deer as it goes by. the key is to go slow and use the wind.

I like to do sent drives while bowhunting. one or two sitters set up down wind while another hunter walks above them (most of the time several hundred yards above) letting your sent drift into thick brush or where ever you feel the deer may be hanging out. This has worked several times for my hunting buddies and myself in the last few years. Try it you never know.

YUP... on a couple of occasions. But you know.... I had more fun with the "ALMOST WORKED" drives than I did shooting a deer.:D:D

;) RiverBottomBowHunter: My son and me do drives like you described. I am always the still hunter and Joe is set up where I'm pretty sure they will try an escape. We are both on the ground and it makes for exciting hunts. I also like that other fellows idea about scenting. We will be discussing that tonight already planning next years exciting adventures.
