I have a 2003 extr VFT. I have tried several different rest and not getting good arrow flight. It always seems to hit knock left while paper tuning. I am shooting goldtip 55-75. I am beginning to wonder if I need to switch to 75-95. It is 70lb draw with 28" arrows and 75gr points. What are you other guys with bowtechs in this draw weight shooting?

I shoot a bowtech pro 38. 67 lb draw, 29" arrows. I shoot beman ics with 100 gr tips. I also shoot a muzzy drop away and get excellent arrow flight at roughly 295 fps. It's a perfect setup for me.

What fletchings are you shooting - feather or vane?

Are you using GT's nocks? - if so junk em.

Are you getting any fletching contact? what rest are you using?

More than 1/2 the time shooter form (torque with the bow hand is the cause of bad paper tune)

7595 - may help - but I would check the other things first

I am shooting 2.5" vanes. I have tried a WB, trap door, and a TM hunter rest. I am getting vane contact on both the trapdoor and the TM. That is why I am wondering if I am getting too much arrow flex. On the WB I was shooting 4" vanes and they were wrinkling up after one shot and totally tearing up within 30 shots.

2.5" vanes seem pretty short if this is a hunting setup. I shoot 4" vanes for both hunting and league and find them to give me a much more stable arrow flight. And also with the muzzy zero effect drop away rest I get no fletching contact whatsoever.
If you are getting alot of fletching contact I would eliminate this first before paper tuning. What I usually do is start from scratch. After changing everything on the bow so much to try and fix the issue sometimes it's alot easier to remove the rest completely and reinstall it allowing you to recenter your nock point. I would also recomend a drop away. I have tried every tm hunter on the market and have had a heck of a time with all of them. All those problems disapeared as soon as I got a drop away.

The trapdoor is a drop away rest and I still had vane contact. I got a drop zone and am going to try that this afternoon. I am setting this up for target/3D shooting.

Two things, the BowTechs like a stiff arrow, and a drop away rest on them should be set up to be fully raised in the last inch or so of draw. I haven't used either the Drop Zone or Trap Door but, have had good luck with the NAP 4000 and Trophy Taker rests. NAP, shoot cock vane down, Trophy Taker cock vane out.

Yeah the spine on those is too weak even with the 75 grain head. Out of my FX @ 67lbs and 28" draw and a 26.75"arrow the 5575's were weak even with an 85 graib head. Your setup is pushing much more horsepower, definitely go to the 7595's and you'll not give up hardly any speed as they'll retain more energy. You'll probably even be able to go to a 100 grain head for your hunting setup.
