Installing a peep site

How do I install a peep site for my compound bow. It says insert the peep through the string halves. How do I split the string? thanks

I've got a bow press, so it's pretty easy. If you don't have one, get a very dull object to wedge between string strands. I use fingernail clippers because the lever you push is a wedge shape; very, very dull, and has no sharp edges (somewhat rounded) to push in between strands. I've read where have a friend pull the bow to full draw. This will put the string at less poundage (due to the bow's leoff), and hence, less chance of busting a strand. (let it be nown I don't recommnd this if a string were to let go) (that is my disclaimer) Seperate the strands evenly, and install the peep. If it doesn't align up. Reposition one strand on each side to the other side of the peep to pull the peep around to the desired position.

very easy man do it with the ol finger nail clippers and wedge it open and put it in there then after u do that u want to adjust it to where u want it pull back ur bow and have someone move it to where u want it have them hold it then get u some dental floss wax is perferd then wrapp it around about 4 times and then take the end and run it there those around the string and pull it tight and start going around then u want to pull it down and do the bottem then have about a 1 1/2 in length left after u tie it 3 or 4 times and light the end with a lighter then lick ur finger and put out the fire and smear the melted stuff all in one motion.

it is very easy if u have ever seen a pro shop do it before.[:-]
