Why do you think you would have had a trailing problem, royak? Was there not a good exit hole, or did she just not bleed well?

I am surprised that the deer made it that far I had a similar shot on a large doe this year. She ran 25 yds and fell over and kick her legs a few times and was dead within in 10 secs of the arrow hitting her.

The deer did not bleed well due to the broadhead hit the opposite leg in the joint right in the middle of the knuckle bone it destroyed the left front leg but it just didnt bleed much first time I ever had that happen .

The shot I made was across the top of the heart which cut several large arteries off the heart. She jumped, took eight steps, looked around a little then fell over. I walked home, ate supper then went back with the garden tractor. Hooked her up and drug her to the garden area for field dressing then to the shop for butchering.

;) I would have guessed approx. 60 yds. I am suprised about the 150 yd. death run, considering the bad leg to boot. That adrenaline is a powerful substance which tends to amaze us.

I think anywhere you shoot a deer (except spineing it) it could go 100 yards quite easily and quickly. If the deer hasitates at all, the time clock is ticking and that will shorten up the distance.

Good Luck!
