Hoyt Havoctec for hunting?

Hey guys I found a great deal on a Hoyt havoctec and I love the way it shoots. The only thing is that I have read and seen a lot of stuff about using them for 3-D or target shooting, but not hunting. My opportunity to purchase this bow may not last long, so your help is greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas.

Are u talking about the old Havoctec or last years cam & 1/2?
not that it matters i was just wondering, they are both great for hunting because it is so short. its great for treestands and ground blinds. i have had mine for 2 years now and love it. i shot a nice doe opening day this year so it works fine on deer lol. hope this helps u out.

RE: Hoyt Havoctec for hunting?

I would think just the opposite.

With the Havoctec being so short ATA, it would excel in the field, out of a ground blind or in a tree stand.

For spots or 3D, I would want something a bit on the longish side like an Ultratec or Protec.

Either way, the Havoctec is a good bow, and will serve you well. If you are very serious about spots or 3D, you may want to consider something a bit longer.
