RE: Hunting with out a stabilizer?

I'll never again shoot without one....at least on my current set up. I shoot much better and quieter. Less shock as well.

RE: Hunting with out a stabilizer?

I've tried several on my Mathews LX, Golden Key, Trophy Ridge and finally decided to go with the Limbsaver Sims Modulator System with the Sims Stabilizer Enhancer. I use to shoot my Pearson bow with out one but ended up purchasing one for it, IMO I think stabillizers help the bow overall.

I always shoot with one. It has never got in the way, really don't see how it could. Unless you try to use a 3 foot long model.

They do help you with balance and holding the bow steady.............I've shot both ways and I feel I shoot better with it.

My stabilizer is a perminate ficture on my bow. I put a short 4" on it to make sure that it doesn't get in the way. I was lucky to find that the 4" balanced the bow out very well and absorbed a lot of shock. Besides, it holds my bow strap on. :D

Jeep,
I currently have an 8" Stealth "Hunter" on my Liberty in combination with my Spot-Hogg "Hogg-it" sight for 3D shooting.........for hunting season I am going to trim it down a bit to a 6" Stealth Hunter and my Spot -Hogg "Real Deal" sight.
The Liberty is so smooth and balanced so nicely it really doesn't need anything too big. I have it set as it is right now becasue of the extra heft and stability the longer one gives me.
If I don't get that same feeling from the 6" I will simply go back to what I am using now.

I use a 6" or 8" Stealth Stabilizer on my Parker Hunter Mag and just leave it on all the time. My bow fits in the case with the stab. on, so I don't find it a problem to deal with what so ever.

RE: Hunting with out a stabilizer?

One reason I stated was that they have gotten in the way several times when hunting. This has happend usually when treestand hunting and the deer is crossing behind you. You're trying not to move much but if you need to suddenly switch to the other side of the tree the stabilizer can cause some problems. I also hunt in some oaks with pretty crazy branches and they really help with concealment. But often those same large branches get in the way ( at full draw).

Good Luck!
