NEED help with Digital Game CAMERAS!!!

Need some help on this. I'm in the market for a digital scouting camera. I've learned enough to know they are not all created equal. Any advice??

I like being able to view/delete images in the field, would like infrared illumination, Would like good range, and would really like quality color pictures.

What I don't like is paying too much.

I also know some have 1.3 mp but cameras with higher mp's produce better images, etc. What are my options?? How have your experiences been???

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks!

I'm also looking for a good digital cam to carry with me while hunting for pics of things I'm not going to shoot . . . and those that I DID shoot.;)

I can't help you with most of your questions but I can answer one. The more megapixels that your camera has then the better the pictures will be. The more megapixels then the higher the resolution and the more detailed they will look.

I forget where I read it. I think it was on www.circuitcity.com . They have a little "Learn about the Basics" guide for each area of items on their website. I believe that a 1 megapixel camera was designed to make a 3x5 picture look pretty much like a 35 mm...a 2 megapixel camera make a 5x7 look like a 35 mm...and a 3 megapixel camera make an 8x11 picture look like a 35 mm shot. If you enlarge them more than the guideline I listed then the pictures start to look grainy. I may be slightly off with the ratios but you can check it at circuit city.

Hope this helps.

Yup, the best thing is to go to that link and find out all you need to know. I have an 8 power optical zoom and 3.1 megapixels. It will really take some nice pictures. I still haven't figured out all the controls. I mostly play in the AUTO mode and then if it screws up I can blame the camera.
