Your whitetail photos for a book?
 

I have just completed a book on the scientific aspects of whitetail hunting including topics of the rut, scent, olfaction, chemical communication and many others. But, I have only about half as many photos as I need. As you know, a good book on hunting needs lots of quality pictures.

So, I am soliciting good, tasteful kill scenes or live shots of bucks. If you submit a photo and I use it I would give you full name credits in the book and mention you and your trophy in the caption below the photo. You would also get a free copy of the book. Since I am a first time (poor) author I cannot pay for the photos. Your payment would be a free copy of the book and your name and picture in the book. It is slated for publication in spring '04 and will be a big seller.

I am told by my publisher that I need original photos, not digital photos. Most digital photos won't translate into a decent image in the book.

I would be particulary interested in the following photos:
1. tasteful kill scenes of mature bucks
2. live photos of mature bucks
3. scrapes, rubs or wallows
4. bucks ingaged in rut activities (rubbing, chasing does, breeding, fighting, etc.)

Tru-shot: You didn't hurt my feelings too bad. That would be a great picture for the book. If I do a book on "Great Chefs who also hunt" I'll get back to you.

Because I've always used James as my internet name. My pen name, I guess. It pretty common in a world based on aninimity. When I get personal e-mails then I obviously give my real name. If it all seems just to fishy, don't respond. If anyone has any other questions or concerns just e-mail me.

Not trying to pick on you Spine, but if you're an author of a book I would think that you would know how to spell and when to use "too" as opposed to "to"

You sure you're not just trying to get some cool pics? If you are an author can you pay me to be your proof reader?

Guys, maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Until otherwise proven, I would hope to believe him.

At least the spelling issue shouldn't be a concern. As someone who used to make his living writing and as a former editor, let me assure you that most people in the field can't spell!
