Advice on Bow Selection Please

Stuck between an 04 Xtec and an '04 Bowtech Liberty-

Shot both ....And love them both for different reasons

They both feel and shoot great

I like the Xtec because of the wall and the looks

The Liberty is probably the smoothest drawing and quietest bow I have ever shot

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I hear from other people, bowtech bows are pretty awesome. Other than that, i can't really help you.

Altho I have not shot either bow as yet.
I would go for smooth and quite over looks specially if it is going to be mainly used for hunting.

Tough call since you are looking at two top of the line bows. Since both seem to suit you in terms of shooting characteristics then I would turn to specs/dimensions as my next avenue of eliminating one or the other. The Xtec is a couple inches longer than the Liberty though the Liberty's longer riser and slightly heavier mass weight probably add to its stability, etc.....

I want to say Hoyt - period, but I know there are other good bows out there. I don't know much about Bowtech, but I wonder if the smoother quieter draw-and-shoot translates into slower arrow velocity?? I would keep speed in mind so that trajectory and yardage estimation are less critical. Besides, I do know that a tec bow from Hoyt will be plenty quiet. But like I said , I'm not really familiar with bowtech, I just know I can't imagine anything better than Hoyt - and they look so awesome, too!!

captain backstrap, there is no slow Bowtech. Most all are around 300 FPS. I don't own one and don't plan to, but they are one of the fastest bows around. Just FYI.

If the Libery was quieter and smoother than the X-Tec, then, that is what I would choose. Looks won't kill deer.

The Liberty is still a barn-burner, with a IBO of 308 f.p.s. Sure, it isn't the fastest BowTech, it isn't going to get 320 f.p.s. out of a hunting set-up like the BKII, but, you are getting a smooth drawing, quiet, well-built, best customer service, bow that is still PLENTY fast for killing deer no matter what the situation calls for.

I have not shot the Hoyt, but the Liberty is a sweet shooter. It was VERY quiet, and had no hand shock. It was a pleasure to shoot.[8D]
I will be getting one in about 3 weeks!:D:D:D
Both companies make good bows, so just get the one that "feels right" for you.
The customer service from Bowtech seems second to none though.
Good lock in your search.

Never shot the xtec, but Bow Tech doesn't have a bad bow in the lot.
