Thanks for the tip. I got my last one wet so I went and bought another one. I'm glad I haven't trashed it yet. I'll have to give that a try.

I've been using the can for two years now with absolutely no responses to it at all. I've had excellent response this year to both my bleat call and my grunt call with kills attributed to both. I'll give this suggestion a try before putting it in the junk closet.

I have been using 2,3 or 4 bleat sequences about 1/2 hr apart with very limited success. However I did not buy the can until after our first rut was over, this might be why not much response. Two different guys I know had almost immediate response with the cans this year with a buck for each of them.

What has been a successful call sequence for you???

I posted on a different thread about cadence. That is a great tip about blowing on it and Davidmil your responses to this have me laughing like crazy!!!! Also, I once heard a doe just prior to light and thought a coyote was having breakfast. She was squealing like a 13 year old girl in a haunted house! Then, about 20 mins after light I called in a small 8 point buck right out of that thicket using a loud doe bleat.

I am thinking about getting a bigger can. (there's a set-up for ya Davidmil)

I think louder might be better. Though most of the time when I have heard deer be it a buck or a doe they make a soft grunt or bleat, but if a deer is 150 to 200 yards away it probably won't hear a soft sound very often. If a deer is close then a softer sound is the way to go I believe.

Also, be very very alert and focus after you call. They can and often will slip into your area and try to see you before you see them!
