So I' m working on my speech about hunting for school and I decided to check out Peta' s website to see what they had to say and what kind of rebutals I could use against their arguements, and I just so happened to come across this little gem telling people how to stop hunting:
" Spread deer repellent or human hair (from barber shops) near hunting areas."
Then I decided to look up the Illlinois Hunter Interference Prohibition Act which explicitely states:
(720 ILCS 125/2) (from Ch. 61, par. 302)
Sec. 2. Any person who performs any of the following is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor:
(a) Wilfully obstructs or interferes with the lawful taking of wild animals by another person with the specific intent to prevent that lawful taking.
A person violates this Section when he or she intentionally or knowingly engages in any of the following acts:
(1) Drives or disturbs wild animals for the purpose
of disrupting a lawful taking of wild animals.
(2) Blocks, impedes, or physically harasses another
person who is engaged in the process of lawfully taking a wild animal.
(3) Uses natural or artificial visual, aural,
olfactory, gustatory, or physical stimuli to affect animal behavior in order to hinder or prevent the lawful taking of a wild animal.
So I guess by the legal definition, Peta is promoting their supporters to take illegal actions in order to prevent law abiding citizens from hunting.
Ah yes, gotta love those animal rights activists!

Give them enough rope...
One of my favorite peta (I won' t even capitalize their name) stories was a member was making a big scene at a pony ride for children. They were crying about how the poor animal was hurting with the kid on its back and that this was very cruel especially because the pony was pregnant..blah, blah. Then the pony decided to take a leak and about a foot or more from the " pregnant" male hung down and started doing its thing on the ground. Somone from the crowd shouted out.." ha ha..look its water broke!"

Yeah, they don' t like us hunting for our food but they don' t mind using illegal means to accomplish their goals.
They also don' t mind living in the big cushy house or working out of their offices and headquarters that sits on the exact same land that many animals and plants used to call home. But aparantly that' s OK with them.
