Do the deer eat persimions? I hunt and live in Okla. I have a place to hunt but its rough. I did notice a lot of persimions on this stand of trees. There wasnt many on the ground but the trees were loaded. Will the deer be eating them?? When do they fall or get ripe??Does any body know about these??? Thanks

deer love em usually rippen after first couple good frosts they won' t eat them until they hit the ground best way to test if they are ripe is to eat one you will know right off if they are ripe or not

persimmons...and yes they love them....soft mass that sweeten after the frost...they fall to the ground and they tear them up...usually 3-4seeds in the middle.

Sounds like you have found a hotspot. Hang a stand nearby and you might be surpised what you see.

I' ve shot multiple deer feeding around the same persimmon tree in a single evening. They are probably the best attractant around these parts.

I know a guy who has persimmon trees on his property, and this one tree is always loaded. The fruit stays on this tree all the way thru hunting season(the middle of Jan.). He goes out in the pasture and knocks down fruit every few days. He says you can see deer under that tree almost every evening.
