Steep angle shot??

Since I am new to bow hunting, I would like to know where to place a shot on deer that are under your stand. I sit about 15' up in a ladder stand. Wait until the deer moves away to angle the shot through the lung and heart? I shoot a 100 grain steel head rocket on a carbon arrow. What would happen if I shot through the center or backbone? Thanks in advance.

Personally I would wait until he quarters away or turns broadside away from your stand. I don' t like the underneath stand shots!!

I' m with NY on this one. I would never take a straight down shot. You hit the spine, he drops. Within a couple inches either way, you get one lung and are in for a very long tracking job, if you recover the deer at all. Wait until you can get a quartering away broadside shot 15-20 yards out. JMO
