Silencing my bow?

My bow is kind of loud and I think it is coming from the string. I think I might know why but not for sure. I have the stringy type of string silencers on there, one is about 2 inches from the cam, and the one on the other side is about 7 inches. This is when not pulled back. Could this be the reason? If so, how far do I put them away from the cam?

If you have a chronograph available you can move them around and maximize speed (minimize loss of speed).

Do yourself a favor and get a pair of limb savers. Don' t just stick them on. Shoot it then stick them on then shoot it again. You won' t believe the difference.

lobi is correct limb savers will dampen the noise alot and it sounds like maybe the rubber whiskers maybe to long, you might try to trim them down some....

I like the string leeches by Limb Saver too. They worked well on my Hoyt to quiet it down.

I have used string leaches too but I also have normal limb savers and I stopped using the leaches cause it seemed like everytime I went and shot I was replacing them cause they go somewere off into never never land

I all ready have limb savers, I really think it is coming from the string. So the silencers being 2 inches from one cam and 7 from the other have nothing to do with it?:(

It is possible that the unevenness is causing the noise, but unlikely. It is more likely causing a loss of speed. Try a string leech on the cable. It seems to make a huge difference, as I believe a lot of the vibration comes from there and not the string itself. Also, make sure all accessories are tight, including cable guard. Put a cable dampener on the cable guard as well. Shoot someone else' s bow, too. You might find that it just sounds loud to you, but it isn' t really any louder than anyone else' s.

Did the noise develop suddenly, or has it always been that way? If so, you may have something come loose or the string and cable have stretched and it is out of time.

Move the whisker down the same distance from the cam as the other side or replace them with string leeches

Add sims cable dampeners. There like ten bucks.

Which cable do you want me to try the string leeches on?
