Suggestions on new Bow
 

I personally favor my Legacy, but I am shopping on some one else’s limited budget for a 14 year old growing young man. He did well this year taking a doe and a cow with his old Bow. I have seen some nice Bowtech’s fully equipped in the $300-350 range. Any suggestion on something else or which model of Bowtech that will accommodate an adjustable draw and shoot smooth for the price?

From my understanding the bowtechs with the infinity cam and the new freedom cam will allow one to micro-adjust draw length as well as install different modules as needed to match the draw length needed.

I suspect if you can provide more details about the 14 year old, such as current draw length, how much weight he can comfortably pull, etc, you' ll get more definitive answers from the bowtech guys here. I' d also recommend posting this in the tech forum if you don' t get a response, or dropping Bowtech Shooter a pm or email.

Thanks for the input. He shot his Bow at 55lbs. this year says he can pull 60#. Our season is over except getting together and shooting for fun. Current draw length is 26.5" but he is 14.

At that draw weight and length the sky' s the limit for him. Assuming money is no object and you are going to recommend a new bow, it depends on what he wants it to do. For the fastest arrow possible, the black knight is it. For a good target/hunting bow, the pro " 40" would be sweet. For primarily hunting with some target shooting, look at a Patriot or the new Liberty. Really, any of their bows will fit his current specs and new modules will let the bow grow with him. If you suspect he will even grow stronger and someday want to draw more than 60#s, go with a 60-70# model and back the weight off. With the new pivoting limb pockets, it should still shoot quiet and efficiently.

Best bet at this time is to have him shoot their different bows and see what feels/performs best in his hand. He is passed the youngster bow age/need, in my opinion.
