hoyt boys

I am close to buying a hoyt ultra-tec bow but I see more positive info about the cyber-tec. What are the differences besides length.

CyberTec is slightly shorter at 36". The CyberTec also has a shorter brace height. If you will be mostly 3D shooting, then the UltraTec is the way to go, but I would choose the CyberTec if you'll be hunting a lot too.

To follow along with what Ausie guy was stating......or if Razorhunter gets their first...

RH hit the nail on the head. The Ultratec is longer in axle to axle length and a has an inch longer brace height. The longer axle to axle comes from a longer riser....same limbs.

As RH stated, if you are going to use the bow for some 3D shooting and some hunting then I would probably pick the Cybertec...if you are going to be doing more 3D shooting with the bow and some target shooting then I would pick the Ultratec.....

welcome to the board!
These guys seem to know what they are talking about. They changed my mind! I was looking at the Havoctech, but will be doing alot of 3D too. I was also tossing around the idea of the Cyber and Ultratech. Right now, I am with you and am thinking about the Ultratech. I like the bigger brace height, and the longer a.t.a. -- In my head, I'll feel more confident about the bow. I haven't shot either yet, but from what I understand they are both a good choice. The only other difference is that the Cybertech has an I.B.O. speed of 4fps faster than Ultratech. Good luck!

You don't hear much about the Ultratec because the Cybertec is new. I would go with the Havoctec or the Ultratec because of the higher brace height. 5 fps isn't much of a loss. Oh yeah, the Cybertec is ugly. Good luck.

I have been shooting my best all time groups with my new CyberTec. I will tell you that the CyberTec really isn't new. It has the same specs as the Vortec, but with the new Dual track idler, and slightly different length limbs. It is basically last years Vortec, but I have noticed considerable improvements in my accuracy with the CyberTec, as compared to my Vortec.
Confidence in your equiptment is EVERYTHING. I have NEVER shot good with any piece of equiptment that I doubted. I have begun to realize the importance of confidence more and more every day.

razorhunter,

Isn't the riser longer on this year's Cybertec when compared to last year's Vortec? Otherwise, how would they have compensated for the shorter limbs in order to come out with the same axle to axle length?
