RE: Should I ask?
On a property bordering where I hunt turkeys, the landowner is extreemly fanatical about no one hurting his trees in any way. He even has signs posted all over stating not to use treestands on his trees. These signs are not stapled or nailed into the tree, they' re tied on with soft string![:o]

RE: Should I ask?
Have you taken care of him after each season? If yes, then I' d definitely ask him. Let him know that you will not harm any trees if that is his hang up. Use all strap on stuff.
Personally though, I don' t allow anyone (except my own hunting partners) to use tree stands on my land more becuase of liability concerns. |
RE: Should I ask?
I don' t know about other states but I know that here in IL there was a law passed awhile ago that says anyone who hurts themself while hunting cannot sue the landowner. During my hunter' s ed class they actually gave us all little business cards with the law printed on it so that we could show landowners that they weren' t responsible for us.
