Area monster killed by truck.

Been chasing a Monster. Typical 10 pointer with massive rack. This critter was in the 175 - 185 catagory. Coming home from the store yesterday I see a guy in the ditch cutting his head off.[:' (] I stop, the hit him with his truck and killed him. I guess that' s one way to do it! Anyway, his 1977 Ford pickup didn' t look too bad for it' s part.[>:] He' d gotten a tag from the sheriff for the deer. The guy seemed proud of his deer. I can only hope he had time to breed some does in my area before becoming road kill.[X(]

Major bummer.

At least the guy got a sherrifs tag. How many deer are seen on the side of the road with the skin peeled back and just the back straps gone, or just a rack sawed off? Not the way I want to harvest deer. I have been close a few times however. People forget when they see one deer that there is probably more about to cross.

If this guy had just ran over this deer, why was he cutting his head off?

All the meat is not ruined by getting ran over........I have brought home deer that were hit by cars and some of them weren' t hurt at all..........to some a deer that has been ran over is nothing more than a coon or a possum some one has hit. They leave there to rot.

My old forman that does not hunt called me up one day to come skin a deer. I was like What? and he told me that his wife was driving down this road going home and saw this buck step up onto the side of the road and she slowed down a bit got into the other lane just in case. Then that sucker put his head down and plowed into the side of his brand new Dodge Ram 3/4 ton. He messed up that door and broke his own neck. I guess he walked off into some guys yard and died. But all I saw was this deer in the back of his truck at his house. So we hung and skinned it to let it cool off and I cut off the antler to make a pair of rattling antlers. I was excited cause I could never use a set from a deer I shot. Anyhow that think was a real nice what you eastern guys call a 8 point blacktail. 4x4
