RE: Bow hunting around horse trails
I did this year. I got my 8 pointer this year on opening day and had a horse rider come by me in the morning. I still saw lots of deer so no problem. I don't feel that the deer will react the same as if it was a person walking down the same trail. They just seem to watch the rider go by then carry on. SO If you find some area that you like don't let it stop you I didn't and got my biggest deer ever. Also was my first bow kill too. Go for it.

RE: Bow hunting around horse trails
I have a place just like you are describing. The horses don't seem to bother the deer much as long as the people are quiet. If the horses are part of the regular landscape and the deer don't associate them with humans it shouldn't cause a big problem for you.

RE: Bow hunting around horse trails
on one of the farms i hunt, have a stand about 75 yards south of a hourse pasture. fence goes around a pretty good size chuck of woods. have seen deer bed in there while horses were in there roaming around. probably doesn't bother them if they're use to it.

RE: Bow hunting around horse trails
It's not uncommon for deer to graze right along with horses so this set up most likely wont bother them. I know what I would use for a cover scent.(road apples) If you hunt this setup and don't see the bucks your hoping to see then you may want to go deeper into the woods closer to their bedding area.:)
