You couldn' t pay me to shoot one of those things. Junk, plain and simple. Nothing but a gimmick.

RE: Razzor Ring Broadheads
I have two deer in the freezer this year.. Both fell to the RazorRing!
I thought penetration might be a problem too but shot with them anyway to try them out. I am in no way affilliated with them or have nothing to gain by this post. The doe I shot was hit very low, just behind the ribcage and the razorring tore a huge hole in her. The arrow passed through but didn' t have much blood on it but the wound was big and bleed good soon enough. About 50 yds from the hit site I found a pile of guts that fell out of her. The blood trail was great and she didn' t go too far. Fortunatly the stomach was not hit. I took a four point with a double lung shot at about 12 yds. I had complete pass through and lots of blood. He didn' t make 75 yds, I heard him pile up. Seems like I am always buying somthing new. Last year I bought the steelforce sabertooth blades. I had a lung pass through shot on a nice 8 pt that wasn' t out of earshot before he piled up either. Before that I was shooting big diamater mechanicals and the tracking of those deer was long and hard. I just bought some of the new Montec G-5' s. I hope to try them out in late bow season this year. They look awesome. Feel free to pm me for more details on the razorrings if you want. They do not have a penetration problem! |

I forgot to mention, my Hoyt is only set at 58 pounds. I am shooting light carbons. The razorrings I have are the old ones that were 120 grains. The new ones available are either 100 or 125 grains.

I' m skeptical on these heads. I did see them on TV being shot at a range but I wouldn' t be comfortable hunting with them. Not sure how they would hold up if you were to hit thick bone.
Maybe 5 Shot will chime in with some of his findings. ;) |
RE: Razzor Ring Broadheads
My experience with these broadheads is don' t use them. My buddy hit a doe a few weeks ago and we tracked for hours, good blood but after a quarter mile or so we found her and she ran off. These broadheads perform well on perfect shots. We feel since he was about 35 feet up, the angle was too severe for the broadheads too penetrate. The ring on it forced it to simply scrape the deer instead of going into it.

RE: Razzor Ring Broadheads
I bought a pack after the story a fellow archer had about using them on hogs. Before I ever got a chance to use them some very respected people on this site warned agenst them so I never used them. With so many great heads out their why chance using a bad or marginal one. I think we owe it to the game we hunt to use the best equipment we can personally afford.
