Has this ever happened to you
 

ok guys you sit in your stand untill time is up it is the last day of the season
You dont see anything so you get down go back to the truck get changed put your bow back in the case.
Your hunting partner comes back to the truck and says he got a good doe can you help track it.
He too gets changed and put the bow in the case.
You track the deer see the deer laying down but not dead so you give it more time

You hear a noise behind you so you turn to see what it is and there is the biggest buck you have ever seen standing not 10 yrds away
just looking at you then it just slowly turns and walks away

Oh why oh why did I leave the bow back at the truck.

slo bo the funny thing is I am a smoker and after being in the stand for 5 hours I needed one
I was smoking at the time this buck came up
Some one told me once that if you light up a smoke then you wont see any deer


David it was in the very last minutes of twilight he came up

Hey Ausie a friend of mine had a simular thing happen to him. It was archery season, he shot a doe a little far back so he waited 3 hrs. or so before going after her. It was in the morning so he had plenty of time. When he and another friend of mine caught up with her she was dead but there was a 4 point buck standing over her. They stood back watching expecting the buck to bolt at any time. What they witnessed was the buck turned his attention to the doe and probed her with his antlers trying to get her up. When she wouldn't get up he tried to crouch low enough to do his thing. My buddies could not believe what they were seeing so they tried to get closer. As they did the buck got agressive and lowered his head and layed his ears back. Then he started in their direction.When he got to with in 30 yds they started hollering, banging trees and throwing sticks at him. The buck finally left but they sure watched their back trail on the way out. <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

Ausie, ah-hah!!!, that's it!! You reached in the wrong pocket and lit up up one of your scent sticks instead of a Winston!! (Just having a little fun with ya!) I swear sometimes deer know when they're safe and like to mess with you! There's always next year.
