After tomorrow I' ll be gun hunting also. This is my first year bow hunting, and I didn' t get to tag one this year. I haven' t even seen a deer in the past two weeks. The rut hasn' t kicked in here yet and the full moon is killing me.

I picked up my bow 2 years ago and haven' t touched my rifle since. Of course, I haven' t put any meat in the freezer either. It' s kind of a shame to leave a nice 7-08 Savage Model 10. I think next year I too will dabble in the Dark Side again.

Just curious...are most of you guys banned from using archery equipment during rifle season?

We' re not in Alaska. Archery is always open during general rifle season.

We can do it in PA as long as we follow the state requirements for wearing blaze orange, etc.

Both gun and bow are open here in the Eradication Zone. [:' (] I' m sticking with my bow.[:-] But then, I do have 3 nice doe in the freezer.:D

I can' t stand the thought that bow season is over sunday and all the orange people will be invading the woods. It is absolutely crazy around here during gun. I don' t see it as hunting. I saw 1 buck last year running about mock 10 across the road. Please say I' m dreaming and opening day of bow is tommorow!! Good luck and fill that freezer Taz.

You can bowhunt here in Missouri, but you have to go out and buy a gun tag to do so. And I think the blaze orange requirements are there too.

Well Taz...How did you do? The dark side is cool with me. Pennsylvania bow season closed yesterday and I went without getting one so now it is off to the dark side for me too. I am first and foremost a bowhunter, but I really like to gun hunt also. My .308 is sighted in and ready to go. Here in PA gun season is pretty crazy with the amount of folks in the woods, so hunting on some private property is a real bonus for me. Mainly, it' s fun to get together with the guys and rehash all the old stories and lies of years gone by and enjoy the togetherness that deer camp brings. Good luck to you. Jim

I too will be putting the bow away.

Decided to make the rifle season more of a challenge and bought an inline for this year. Should be almost as much fun as the flint.
