What do you do with coyotes?
When I shoot one I usually leave em where they fall, but this seems wrong to me. Do you guys skin them or ??

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
I have a friend that takes their pelts. So if I get one i give it to him.

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
I like to let them walk by so my hunting partner can shoot em and scare all the deer off --- 7 times. That sound about right there Philbert8? haha

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
some guys i know skin them during winter when their pelts are full, however the most common practice is to leave them lay. they are dirty and could have lice so i don' t touch' em.
i' ve spent more $ on shells plinking at the yotes ...anymore i don' t even shoot at them. |
RE: What do you do with coyotes?
Where I live, there is a big army that goes out coyote hunting during the winter. A few years ago we got something like 70+ yotes in a few months. A lot of times they skin them and sell them, don' t get a lot but it' s fun none the less.

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
i dont know if they taste like chickenever triedd it but to kill one and let it lay there is wrong its no defferent than shootin a deer and lettin that lay there where i come from if ya kill it ya eat it not kill it for the fun of it

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
The problem is this deer hunter x27.
Coyotes are a nusiance. They eat crops, livestock, deer, and pheasants, to name a few things. They are dangerous to children and pets. And they breed fast. I see them as nothing more than bigger rats. I personally have never killed one but will not hesitate to kill it and leave it. |
RE: What do you do with coyotes?
I shot one a few years back and was going to get it mounted for the hell of it but I ended up just tossing it out. I would however like to get one made into a rug if he' s got a nice pelt. Once I get that done if I shoot another one I' ll probably drag it out into a field somewhere and leave it for the crows. Coyotes are alright to have around, just not in the abundance they are today.

Good Point!

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
yes i agree coyotes are a nuisence and there has to limits on them but not to the point of killin them and leaven them you could at least make your self a purdy rug for the most part ya could dress em and feedem to ya dogs but coyotes are mainly scavengers they will attack cattle and stuff but one thang you gotta accept its nature usually theyll attack a weak or sick animal way before attackin a healthy strong one but what ya do is your buisness not mine

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
It' s not " just nature" when you have altered the food chain as humans have done over time. The coyotes need to be thinned out as do the deer because of our tampering with the natural balance. The difference is that deer meat tastes good. If deer tasted bad, we would still have to hunt them or they would cause more damage than we can comprehend.

RE: What do you do with coyotes?
i am not sayin its wrong to huntem but to just leave out to rott is wrong no matter what they are
|
RE: What do you do with coyotes?
i agree about leaving it lay, it just doesnt sound right, and it could screw up ur good huntin spot;) If i see one i will shoot it no doubt, but ill skin it and make me some new huntin clothes:D i wouldnt pay money to have one mounted, but i would like to have a bobcat, too bad you cant shoot them here:(
|
RE: What do you do with coyotes?
im glad ya agree bout leavin them lay but a few are good to have around but to many is a problem and a danger to children i dont know if i would mount it but i would certainly use the skin but thats a kool idear bout clothes ya could even make a nice rug
