What to do.

I have been using Tics #69 i think it is called, well i have been having some success with it. On 2 different days i have seen three bucks but 2/3 busted me. For the time being i can only hunt on the ground, which is ok. But the deer seem to pick me out when they get about 15 yards from me, which is ok. But my problem is that they are not giving me a chot cause they are walking straight at me. I was told to put the scent on my boot and walk to where i am going to hunt so if i deer picks it up they will follow it in. Well how can i get the deer to come in but not come in walking right at me? Should i not put the scent on my boot or what?

Huntm, I also use tinks, but I use a ceramic disk that I got with a bottle of tinks I bought last year. There are great. I also use them as yardage markers while i' m hunting.

No offense, but my guess is that you' re either moving, or they see you standing upright.

This generally indicates that your stand/spot is ON the trail.

If they' re coming in on the scent trail, try walking a semi-circle around your spot before you go to your stand. Add a few scent dispensors around your area - and make it so the deer walk at an angle from the trail - and it might help.

RE: What to do.

kimber gives some good advice on the scent. try putting it on a rag and dragging behind you to a location where you will be offered a shot. Then go sit behind a tree peeking around at the scent rag. The tree will block you from the deer' s view and the scent rag should keep him from walking right at you.

Having three bucks walk to within 15 yards of you on the ground is impressive by itself. You' re doing something right. Just make the minor adjustments suggested.
