RE: Hawgs Limited VS. Code Blue
Never tried or even heard of hawgs limited, however I use code blue and only code blue. I have had great success with it especially right now during the rut. It doesnt take 5 to 10 minutes from the time i set up the trail and the wick for a deer to come out and investigate. So far it hasnt spooked any yet. Right now Im using early/late season.

RE: Hawgs Limited VS. Code Blue
i purchased a code blue bottle of a tarsal gland and the first time i set it out i had a good 160 class 10pt come in pissed off with his neck stuck out and his head raised.he thought it was another buck on his turf!he looked at me twice when he came to a stop about 20 yrds out but was still looking to see were that intruder was.it started pouring the rain and he finally gave me the oppurtunity.he walked off about 40 yrds and acted like what the hell was that and wobbled and about fell then turned and was having trouble walking into the thicket.i waited about 45 min and was so excited but it turned into utter dissapoitment.i searched for abouy a hour and a half and could not find him.went back to camp and told a few of my hunting buddies i had hit a big one and them pieces of crap did not even offer to help me find him.i searched the next morning for 3 more hours by myself,i followed the path of least resistance to hacking it through the thickets to no avail.im pretty broken hearted about the whole deal--about not finding the trophy and my so called friends!

Man that is very bittersweet. I am glad you got the shot but that sucks that you couldn' t find it. When my buddy shot his in the shoulder, we looked for 3 hours solid and then looked for another hour the next morning. We never did find him.
When my buddy shot a buck with his rifle, I got on the blood trail while he went and got the truck. By the time he came back with the truck, I had followed the blood trail and recovered his buck for him. It was a good day. :) |
RE: Hawgs Limited VS. Code Blue
I have used two of the Code Blue scents on numerous occasions and though I have seen deer express interest in them I have yet to actually harvest one strictly because of it.

RE: Hawgs Limited VS. Code Blue
Hey cannon just this year before bow season i bought the hawgs limt' d pre/ post rut formula and BF gland and i started the season freshening one single scrape that i had found that he' d be working. Well when i went to camp this in webster co. i not only had to doctor up my origional scrape, but had to do five other scrapes that he made:D I ran outta the stuff! Im convinced that it worked for me but i think the key was that i used the pre rut formual which is milder and less strong early as opposed to the CB.

RE: Hawgs Limited VS. Code Blue
I use several scents, i have tried code blue, not a big hit with the deer in my areas.
I have used hawgs, and have had great results with it! Plus you get more for your money. Doesn' t hurt to try, and see if it works in your area.:D |
