Composite Bow Vs Longbow? What are the major differences?

Hi, I am a newbie. I am curious to know about the major differences between a composite bow and a longbow. Thanks

If you truly mean "composite", there is no difference. A longbow can be composite if it's constructed of multiple layers of wood and fiberglass or it can be a "self" bow meaning constructed out a single piece of wood. If you really mean a "compound" bow, There's a big difference. Compound bows use mechanically rotating cams to provide the energy to propel the arrow, whereas a longbow is a stick and a string. Bending the long limbs provide the energy.

The major differences between composite bows and longbows are: materials (composite vs. single piece of wood), power (composite bows are more powerful), size (composite bows are smaller), and weight (composite bows are lighter). Here is a more detailed explanation of the differences: Materials: Composite bows are made from multiple materials, such as wood, horn, and sinew. Longbows are made from a single piece of wood. Power: Composite bows are more powerful than longbows because they can store more energy. Size: Composite bows are typically smaller than longbows because they do not need to be as long to store the same amount of energy. Weight: Composite bows are typically lighter than longbows because they are made from lighter materials. Ultimately, the best type of bow for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you are looking for a powerful bow that is easy to draw, then a composite bow may be a good option for you. If you are looking for a traditional bow that is made from a single piece of wood, then a longbow may be a better choice.
