I normally don' t hunt with my bow this late in the season and I am having a real hard time getting string clearance with my wool jacket on.It is way to cold to sit on stand my normal bow season clothes.My Cybertec as only 6 5/8" of brace height and it is making for real tight quarters.What' s a man to do.Oh,and I ain' t buying a new bow!!Ron

Realtree makes a neoprene bow sock that fits tight on your arm for just such a problem.:)

Sounds like your draw length may be too long and/or you are shooting with too closed of a stance. Too long a draw length is a common problem that many bowhunters have and don' t even realize it until...slap. I used to have what I thought was a 30 inch draw length. That has shrunk to 28" over the years after going through the pains you are now experiencing. My arms surely didn' t get shorter. I can wear my heaviest hunting clothes with no arm slap and you should be able to also. Check your setup. Hope this helps. Jim

As stated, too long of a draw could be a problem but then again, a 6 5/8th inch brace height is probably also contributing to it. The sleeves that fit over your bow arm, as mentioned above, would probably be your best bet. You can also try experimenting with different grip positions as this may also help increase string clearance.

The neoprene sleeve is a good way to go. It may not eliminate the contact, but the neoprene will have the least affect on the shot if it does hit. Short brace height bows do contribute alot to this.

All kidding aside, it never really get too cold in Mississippi, but when it does I use camaflauge tape and wrap it around my arm several times, this usually helps.
