Default new to the board and need some advice.

My son is turning 12 in February and I have promised him he could start bowhuning next fall. My question is what would you guys/gals suggest on which bow I shoud buy him for xmas. I am looking for something that will grow with him atleast until he is about 16.

Any siggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Thx, Dave in Maryland

There are over a dozen bows out there that will fit the bill. www.fastestbows.com has compilation of a bunch of youth bows on their website.

My best advice is to find a dealer near you that you like and buy the bow from him. Get some lessons from them and get a solid start in the sport. Next, join a local club.

I have been bowhunting for many years in the northern mid central states like north dakota and montana. Moved to maryland and joined a hunting club. Now the boy is coming up on 12 and is holding me to my promise I made for the last 4 years about letting him bowhunt.

Thanks for the link to the youth bow roundup, the Micro eclipse and the Micro midas 3 bows look like exactly what I need for my son. Fully adjustable draw lengths and peak weight can be changed from #35 to 50. Guess he will be one little happy hunter come xmas, well atleast until I make him shoot a zillion arrows and build up those nintendo 64 arms of his. Lol

Thx alot Dave

I may be wrong, but I think the Mathews FX is designed for just that sort of a thing in mind.
