The deer are harrassing me!

So it is the best weather we' ve had all season in Texas. COLD as far as im concerned (50-60) and light winds from the north. Perfect for my most productive stand.

BUT my brother had to get married during deer season. What an idiot! Not only does he have to miss this weekend, but one weekend a year for an anniversary!! Personally, I think he is crazy. Also, the WMA that i hunt down here (Im in college, cant go home to hunt because the wedding is in the opposite direction) is closed for the weekend for drawing gun hunts.

So since i cant hunt this weekend i decide to go shoot my bow at the park. Well, I walk around the corner to go into the archery range and there is a doe about 25 yards away. I have seen tracks at the park, but no deer until today. I was already having a hard enough time dealing with missing out this weekend, and now the deer are just picking on me...

i know your feeling. i used to work in a building were i could look out my office window and see 10-20 everyday. then when the season rolled around i would drive 2 hours to a hunting camp. does that makes sense, i think not!

I feel your pain...I have not been having much luck this season and have become a bit frustrated. Haven' t seen too many and the big buck I was after and had scouted was poached by some dumbarses.

At any rate.......on my drive to and from my hunting spot there is a farm with a big hayfield next to the highway. There is a very deep gully between the highway and the hayfield and the hayfield is quite steep. For whatever reason, each fall the farmer takes his tractor and mows a big " HI" into the hillside....each letter must be 40-50 yards tall.

You' ve been harassed, I am taunted. The other day, after my third day in a row of no deer sightings, I was on my way home early afternoon (temps were about 80!) and looked over at the farmers " HI" .....there stood three does....one in the " H" , and two in the " I" .......

That is seriously sadder than old yeller, 5 deer inside of the HI. I haven' t had that great of a season myself, mainly because of lack of hunting time. I wanted to sneak out tommorrow but it' s the boy' s 2nd birthday so I guess I' ll just watch the steeler' s get whooped for the 7th week in a row.
